Transit of Goods Through Iran Registers 47% Growth in 1st Month of Year

TEHRAN (ANA)- Statistics released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) showed that the transit through the country’s territory increased by 47% in the first month of the Iranian year of 1403 (March 19 -April 20).

“Foreign transit through Iran in Farvardin in the first month of in the Iranian calendar (March 20-April 19) continued its upwards trend like in recent months and reached 1.6 million tons,” IRICA said.

The Iranian customs administration further said that those figures indicated 47% increase compared to the Farvardin in last year of 1402.

According to the report, 486,000 tons of goods were transited through Parviz Khan Border Crossing Customs, 377,000 tons through Shahid Rajaei Customs, and 203,000 tons via Bashmaq Customs.

Parviz Khan is in Kermanshah Province in the west of the country at the shared border with neighboring Iraq, Shahid Rajaei is in the southern province of Hormozgan and Bashmaq is in Kordestan Province at the Western shared borders with Iraqi Kurdistan region.
